I want to teach young children because I want to
be a positive influence in their lives when they are most impressionable.
- Education is meant to prepare a person for what
lies ahead. It equips a person with skills to be able to recognize
a situation and then to create the most appropriate and effective
response or solution. Education continually allows a person to
grow through gaining new knowledge and experiences.Education should be continuous, building throughout
a person's entire life.An educational institution is meant to be a place
for students to explore the world and find their place in it.
The institution should equip students with skills so that they
can create and discover, problem solve and prophesize. The institution
should lay a strong foundation of morals, basic knowledge, and
valuable experiences, which can be added to, revised, and applied
to situations throughout a person's life. An educational institution should be a safe
place, free from threat of bodily harm and mental injury.Tests should be gauges used to assess what has
been thoroughly covered and what needs to be gone through again,
not a measure of how smart someone is, and not a deciding factor
in the success or failure in a course of study.
- If students are taught how to explore and discover
in school instead of memorize and recite, they will be able to
continue to learn new things and have new ideas. If the faucet
of knowledge is properly turned on, a person will continually
be able to refresh the ideals and beliefs of the population, will
be able to leave footprints in the sand.
